GTFS stands for General Transit Feed Specification. More information about GTFS can be found at gtfs.org. It is the key format used to provide public transport timetable and real-time data to developers and planners.

GTFS timetable data can be downloaded as a ZIP file containing CSV files, which can be viewed using a text editor, Excel or another spreadsheet application. GTFS-Realtime data is provided in Protocol Buffer (Protobuf) format and needs to be decoded before it can be easily viewed.

GTFS Studio was a feature added to the Transport Open Data Hub as part of the Make Data Great Innovation Challenge. It provided a convenient way to browse Transport for NSW GTFS timetable and GTFS-Realtime data. GTFS Studio has since been decommissioned and is no longer available.
