Spot Parking is a private company participating in the Parking Innovation Challenge for the purpose of conducting a proof of concept trial for kerbside data mapping.
The Spot Parking platform provides a group of APIs along with client libraries, language specific examples, and documentation to help you develop applications that integrate with Spot Parking. In addition, Spot Parking publishes a set of JSON Documents that provides for easy consumption by applications, but with a limited subset of data.
This API is being made available for free to Open Data Hub users for a 12 month period from October 2020 to October 2021 as part of the Parking Innovation Challenge.

Data and Resources
- JSON Documents for Zones Data Browserhtml
The JSON Documents for Zones dataset is published every week. The JSON Documents provide the capability to determine the local parking rules and entitlements within specific locations for a generic user (ie special entitlements are not considered). From these documents, you can understand the different categories of parking available, and what available entitlements (if any) a user with a standard motor vehicle (eg. car) with no additional permits or permissions may have to park within that location (eg. business rules).
To download the files manually, right click on the file link and click on the appropriate context menu option to save the file, or download the files programmatically using the URL.

This documentation serves as a guide on how to utilise the standalone JSON datasets for parking-asset related business rules.
- Spot Parking Open Data API Overviewpdf
